My reviews of other books in the series: The Soul's Mark: FOUND | The Soul's Mark: HUNTED
At first glance, Willowberg seemed like any other college town to newcomer Amelia Caldwell. But after a whirlwind of strange events, she now knows the truth—Willowberg is run by vampires—and her soulmate, Mitchell Lang, is their leader. And if that wasn’t enough, Amelia also learned that she is a witch.

The vampires and humans coexisted with relative peace, or at least they did until the vampire hunters arrived. Now, Amelia finds herself at the center of a showdown, fighting not only for her freedom and that of her new vampire family, but also for the lives of Willowberg’s residents.

But when Amelia’s branches of destiny cross paths, a long forgotten darkness falls upon the town. For any chance at victory, she must revisit her past and come face to face with the ultimate challenge: a fate that was decided by a force much closer to her than she could ever have imagined.

Will darkness prevail, or will Amelia find the strength to mend what has been broken?

*Cover Reveal* DEMON DERBY by Carrie Harris

Hey Guys, I've been a bit behind schedule lately. I apologize. I hope you can forgive me? I've been sick with the flu for a few days and didn't realize what the date was today. These cold meds have been a bit loopy. =-(

But without further delay here is the cover for DEMON DERBY... I really want to read this one!! I've always been a fan of derby races =-X

Title: DEMON DERBY
Author: Carrie Harris
Publisher: Random House
Genre: Paranormal
Age Group: Young Adult
Expected release: March 2014

Casey kicked cancer’s ass. Now a demon wants to kick hers...

Casey hates being known as the girl who survived cancer. She wants people to treat her like her old self, fearless and strong. And after a creepy encounter with a crazy guy in an alley, Casey is all about reclaiming her power.

So when she has a chance to try out for the Apocalypsies roller derby team, she jumps on it. Being a derby girl would prove that she doesn’t need anybody’s pity. It doesn’t hurt that Michael, the team manager, is almost unnaturally hot. Which makes sense when Casey finds out that he’s not even human.

Michael’s got a secret: he trains demon hunters. That crazy guy in the alley? Demon. And the fact that Casey went head to head with evil and lived makes her a threat to demonkind. Casey thought she’d already fought and won the battle of her lifetime. But it’s only beginning...

From Carrie Harris, author of Bad Taste in Boys and Bad Hair Day, comes a knockout new read for anyone facing their own demons—inside and out.

Eternal Life is To Die For.

Seventeen year old Zoe Vanderveen is a GAP—a genetically altered person. She lives in the security of a walled city on prime water-front property along-side other equally beautiful people with extended life spans.

Her brother Liam is missing.

Noah Brody is a natural who lives on the outside. He leads protests against the GAPs and detests the widening chasm they’ve created between those who have and those who don’t. He doesn’t like girls like Zoe and he has good reason not to like her specifically.

Zoe’s carefree life takes a traumatic turn. She’s in trouble and it turns out that Noah, the last guy on earth she should trust, is the only one who can help her.

My Review

For this review, I decided to try something a little different. Let me know if you guys enjoy it!

If I had to describe PERCEPTION the easiest way to would be: Imagine the cartoon The Jetsons mixed the movie Clueless with an added dose of science-fiction and action. It may sound like an odd mix, but it is awesome! Don’t believe me? Read the story yourself and tell me if I’m wrong. Yep, I’m challenging you. Yes You!

I will admit that at first, I seriously couldn’t get into reading PERCEPTION. I honestly feared that I would not be able read beyond page 40. The story just wasn’t catching my interest. I kept pushing forward and was blown away by how the story developed! Once my interest grew in the story I couldn’t put it down! The beginning may have been a bit shaky but the rest of the story was so well written that I finished it all in one sitting. The underlying mystery interlaced with a budding romance and surprising outcome had me on the edge of my seat! I really enjoyed how the book was divided up into two sections: Zoe’s perspective and Noah’s perspective.  So many different elements are present in this novel but they work together to bring this wonderfully addictive story to life.

World-Building:
Since PERCEPTION is considering a dystopian novel, I feel the world the story takes place in is very important. The world bestowed upon me was unlike any I’ve experienced, so strangely convincing. It was remarkable. I was able to picture the world in great detail and I dare to say, I can imagine the world being the exact same way in the distant future. The science and technology portrayed in this novel could very well be completely real one day.

Romance:
I’m a sucker for a good old Romeo and Juliet like love story... and the romance in this novel is just that. Don’t worry though it isn’t instant love but it is forbidden and dangerous. I wish I could say more, but then I would ruin it.  =-X

Overall Opinion:
Will I be reading the next book in this series? Heck yes!
Would I recommend PERCEPTION to you? Yes! What are you waiting for? Go get your copy ASAP!
